A little dab will do ya...

Sometimes just the littlest thing can go a long way. A little pinch of salt, can flavor an entire dish just right. A little pebble can make big ripples in a quiet lake. The littlest nugget of information can help effectiveness in parenting and relating to teenagers.

I have a little nugget I would like to share with you. There is a website that I have found to be VERY helpful in my ministering to teens and know it would be VERY helpful to you as a parent as well. The website is www.cpyu.org. CPYU stands for the Center for Parent Youth Understanding. On this website you will find a place where you can sign up to receive their weekly e-newsletter. I would encourage you to do so.

Every Thursday(ish) an email will be sent to you with all kinds of information about the newest trends in the teenage/youth culture. There are links to stories/articles about new trends and things teens are dealing with. Signing up for this newsletter and making it a part of your weekly reading is definitly worth it. Knowing your teen and the teenage world better will help to become more effective in parenting and ministering to teens.

Please take advantage of this resource and use it to your advantage.

In the fight!

CCSM Update

It's been a crazy few weeks for the student ministry. We have had a few events and have quite a bit coming down the pike as well.

In March we hosted the Area Youth Bash. It was a great time had by all those who attended. 8 Area churches gathered together to have some fun hanging out, eat some pizza and nachos, and worship together. It was amazing to see 125 teens and sponsors come together and unite to give God glory.

We also held a Battle of the Rockbands contest in March. 4 bands competed for the title of the best Rockband. It was a great time to see students form bands and come together to play and showcase their Rockband skills.

So far, April has been a crazy month. On Good Friday, 6 area churches gathered together to play paintball at the Paintball Plex in Laotto, IN. 80 students and sponsors got together to have fun shooting each other with paintballs. Pictures will be coming soon.

Then on April 3rd a group of us went to the Komets game and watched the Komets play hard and earn a victory on the ice. Great fun and conversations were had and will be remembered.

Tonight, April 14th, we resume theFUSE again. It will last for the next 4 weeks and will wrap up for the year on May 5th. We are beginning our series on the Gospel message and learning how to share that message with our friends and the importance of sharing that message.

As for upcoming events:

April 17th: Student Impact (Registration deadline is April 14th)

May 1st: CCatG Work Day (Registration deadline is April 28th)

May 8th: CCSM Paintball Day (Registration deadline is May 2nd)

May 15th: Day of Caring - WCCH (Registration deadline is May 9th)

May God bless you and your family. Until the next post....
